"Sie nennen sie Clara Schumann"

Sie gewann den Leonard Bernstein Award des Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festivals und ist Preisträgerin des Opus Klassik: Am Samstag, den 28. September 2024, ist die britische Pianistin Isata Kanneh-Mason zu Gast im Palais Wittgenstein.

Ihr umjubeltes Debütalbum „Romance – The Piano Music of Clara Schumann“ präsentierte Isata Kanneh-Mason im Jahr 2019, dem Clara-Schumann-Jahr, in Leipzig, der Geburtsstadt der Komponistin.
Sie wuchs auf als ältestes von sieben musikalisch hochbegabten Geschwistern. Wegen ihrer großen Liebe zu Clara Schumann gab ihr die Familie den Spitznamen „Clara Schumann“.
Die Ausnahmekünstlerin wird im Juli dieses Jahres bei der FIRST NIGHT of the PROMS in London mit Clara Schumanns Klavierkonzert op. 7 auftreten. Es wird dort zum ersten Mal seit Gründung der Proms vor über hundert Jahren gespielt.

Bei uns in Düsseldorf präsentiert Isata Kanneh-Mason eine spannende Mischung aus Clara Schumanns Kompositionen und Werken aus dem Konzert-Repertoire dieser im 19. Jh. gefeierten Pianistin. Dazu Stücke, die Clara Schumanns Kunst weiterdenken bis in unsere heutige Zeit.

Piano recital by Isata Kanneh-Mason

She won the Leonard Bernstein Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and is a winner of the Opus Klassik: British pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason will visit Palais Wittgenstein on Saturday, 28 September 2024.

In 2019, the Clara Schumann year, Isata Kanneh-Mason presented her acclaimed debut album "Romance - The Piano Music of Clara Schumann" in Leipzig, the composer's birthplace. She grew up as the eldest of seven musically gifted siblings. Because of her great love for Clara Schumann, her family nicknamed her "Clara Schumann".
The exceptional artist will perform Clara Schumann's Piano Concerto op. 7 at the FIRST NIGHT of the PROMS in London in July this year. It will be played there for the first time since the Proms were founded over a hundred years ago.

In Düsseldorf, Isata Kanneh-Mason will present an exciting mixture of Clara Schumann's compositions and works from the concerto repertoire of this celebrated 19th century pianist. In addition: pieces that take Clara Schumann's art further into the present day.
